What to Expect
Standup Paddle Board (SUP) Yoga is a peaceful and fun way to take your practice outdoors and onto a floating mat. This class is designed to help you feel grounded and stable in this calming, yet empowering, flow, whether you’ve had experience or none at all!
Practicing yoga while floating on water, oftentimes with wildlife, is a magical experience that cannot be explained in words. Be prepared to have fun and get wet! We look forward to having you join us for this special practice!
Please arrive at the Ride the Wind Rental stand at 8:15am to get checked-in and ready to go. The group will leave at 8:30 sharp and the class will last for 75 minutes. We begin all of our classes on land with a few minutes of basic SUP instruction and stretching, ensuring all of our clients feel comfortable on a paddleboard. We will then paddle to a peaceful location to anchor together to our Floating Yoga Studio!
Ride The Wind x Ocracoke Island Yoga
Your instructor, Savana Harwood, owns and operates Ocracoke Island Yoga. She has been teaching yoga on Ocracoke Island since 2016, and was the first yoga instructor to officially lead group classes on the Ocracoke Beach. After two years of teaching outdoors she decided to open the island’s first Yoga studio located on Back Road.
She received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification in 2016 & SUP Yoga Certification in 2020 from Hot Asana Yoga University of Southern Pines.
