What You'll Experience

Take a group tour through the scenic Pamlico Sound with a trained kayak guide. Along the two hour tour you can expect to see a variety of animals including oyster catchers, great blue herons, dolphins, stingrays, and other local fish species. The group tour departs out of Silver Lake Harbor and heads towards Springers Point Nature Preserve. From Springers, your kayak guide will lead you into the wildlife filled marsh where you will explore and then return to Silver Lake Harbor. If you have never kayaked before, no worries, our kayak guides will teach you proper paddling techniques and get you feeling comfortable in the water in no time.

FAQ's

What should I bring?

Please bring a water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, and sunglasses. Most importantly, please wear clothes that can get wet; you will need to step into the water to get into the kayak.

Do I need experience?

No kayak experience is needed to join a kayak tour. Before each tour, your kayak guide will teach paddling basics to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Weather policy

Should our guide cancel a tour due to weather or other safety considerations you will be offered the opportunity to reschedule, set up a gift card for future uses, or receive a refund.

Age requirements

Children ages 12 and younger must be in a tandem kayak with an adult (someone 18 or older) at all times, regardless of their prior experience kayaking.

Check-in details

Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can start on time. We try to ensure that the 2 hours are spent on the water. To save time you can also fill out the liability waiver prior to arriving.

Cancellations

Cancellations made within 24 hours are fully refunded. All other cancellations will be refunded based on our ability to fill your seats. No-shows will not be refunded.
